Amy and Roger’s Relaxed Cotswolds Barn Wedding at The Great Tythe Barn

The Happy Couple…

Amy & Roger met at uni so have been together about 11 years! So no surprise on their proposal, as it was about time! But they did go away to New York where they got engaged 🙂

I was thrilled that Amy and Roger chose me to be their photographer, especially as I have never done a wedding before at the Great Tythe Barn – I think it is such a great venue with lovely staff!

Amy and Roger’s day was truly fun with a band for their evening entertainment – Gentleman of the road.  I also loved the thought that had been put into the decorations at The Great Tythe Barn. The day looked absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous flowers from Scentiments.

The Venues… St Peter’s Church, Leckhampton, onto The Great Tythe Barn, Tetbury.

In the heart of rural Gloucestershire lies the Great Tythe Barn. An honestly quintessential English gem tucked away down a tree-lined driveway amidst 200 acres of privately owned land, making it a secluded and picturesque venue for all occasions.

The beautiful Grade II listed, 16th Century Cotswold stone barn is the focal point of the Estate and is surrounded by former farm buildings, which have now been transformed into 10 self-catering cottages as well as Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

Carefully restored, this historic Tythe barn retains many of its original features such as exposed stone walls and wooden oak beams whilst incorporating 21st Century comforts such as under floor heating, tastefully decorated washrooms, wooden flooring, atmospheric lighting and tall glass entrance doors to allow plenty of natural light and views of the courtyard.

The walled garden and courtyard provide an outside drinks reception in the summer months as well as a beautiful place for photo opportunities.

Wedding theme… Champagne coloured and relaxed

Amy’s bridesmaids were in a beautiful champagne colour. The bouquets had a large array of pastel coloured flowers and vibrant purple thistles mixed in with hints of Gypsophila, made by the lovely Scentiments in Bristol. Decorations on the tables were very rustic with flowers and candles.

Highlight of the day

Amy and Roger were really lucky with the beautiful weather they had for their day, especially when it came to watching on in amusement at their guests trying to play the lawn games that Amy and Roger had organised. This was hilarious and great to see everyone getting involved. Then, the whole day was topped off by the Band in the evening.

Here are some photographs to tell the story of their day…
