Megan and Ben’s Early Spring St Anne’s Manor Wedding!
The Happy Couple…
I first met Megan and Ben when I was introduced by Ben’s Mum, Linda, who runs my local Athena women’s networking group. They are such a lovely down to earth couple who love animals, music and nature; they originally met through a mutual friend who was in a band with Ben. Megan went along to a gig they were playing, and they exchanged numbers. After much pestering from Ben, Megan agreed to a date. The rest is history…
Ben proposed to Megan one early morning. “We had gotten up early to take the dog for a walk across Avon beach, one of our favourite beaches. Once the dog had settled, Ben took me to a more private part of the beach and proposed at the waterfront.”
The Venue… St Michael’s Church, Warfield, and St Anne’s Manor Hilton Hotel, Berkshire
Megan and Ben decided on their wedding venue very quickly as Megan pretty much grew up in St Michael’s church, and feels it is a strong place of spiritual upbringing. It is also a stunning building surrounded by countryside. I was really sad to hear that Megan’s mum sadly passed away earlier this year before the wedding. But I found it very touching to hear that she was buried in the graveyard next to the church. So it was clear to see that she was in everyone’s hearts throughout the day.
St Michael’s Warfield Church charts its origins back to 1016AD when Queen Emma granted permission for a chapel to be built on the site of the present Michael the Archangel Parish church. The area around the church has been designated a conservation area since 1974 primarily to protect the character and nature of this historical building.
St Anne’s Manor is a beautiful country house set in 25 acres of grounds in Bracknell.
Wedding Style… Elegant with a Mauve and Grey Colour Scheme
Megan and Ben’s beautiful St Anne’s Manor wedding had a classic style with a Mauve/Purple and grey colour scheme right down to the cake! This was a shock to everyone because when they cut the cake it was purple inside! Most of all, their wedding had a lovely cosy feel, with candles and delicate flowers in coloured bottles on the tables. The church was beautifully decorated with fairy lights above and in addition to this, there were large bouquets of flowers to match Megan’s on the pillars. Furthermore, the aisle was decorated with candle-lit lanterns which added a lovely delicate and warming touch to the church.
Megan wore a beautiful floor-length elegant lace and tulle wedding dress. Hidden underneath were some perfect white lace converses to match her dress! Megan accompanied her dress with a very impressive bouquet of coloured roses and wildflowers, and as a result, took everyone’s breath away when she walked in! Her bridesmaids also matched the roses with gorgeous floor-length flowing dusky purple dresses and amazing sparkly shoes!
Highlight of the Day…
Finally, the highlight of Megan and Ben’s wedding had to be the game of Mr & Mrs before their first dance where, as you can see above they sat back to back each holding one Bride’s shoe and one Groom’s shoe. They had to answer a series of questions about each other, holding up the shoe of the person they thought the question related to! As a result, you can imagine how funny it was when they had to think about the right answers. Amazingly, they agreed with each other on almost every single question! This showed how much they really do know each other! It was great fun and it really seemed like everyone thoroughly enjoyed this game. Some guests even came up with some bonus questions to ask at the end!
