Sarah & Nigel’s Rainy Colourful Wedding at Clandon Park in Guildford, Surrey

Sarah and Nigel got married at Clandon Park at the end of April and had a very colourful wedding indeed. When Sarah showed me all the multi-coloured umbrellas she’d ordered from Ebay at our pre-wedding meeting, I didn’t think they’d actually need to use them… unfortunately it rained heavily pretty much all day, until just after the speeches when the rain cleared and the sun came out to give a beautiful sunset! Luckily Clandon Park is a fantastic venue to cope with bad weather, because the hall is so magnificent and light, with a balcony that overlooks the room – perfect for group photos indoors! Then the coloured umbrellas just added that extra bit of fun to get the bridal party outside prancing about in the rain, which really helped show not only the weather in the photos, but brought out Nigel and Sarah’s fun personality. I always say, if we have bad weather, we’ve just got to go with it and make it fun in the rain!

Sarah chose fabulous Irregular Choice shoes to go under her dress (not too high, with a funky design) and Catherine Edwards, who works for Natasha Wiggins and does the hair & makeup on many boudoir shoots for me, did her hair and makeup.

Nigel and Sarah wrote their own vows, which made the ceremony extra special. They brought with them a ‘Thank You’ sign so they could use some images for thank you cards, which made some fun photos too! They also had not only a guest signing book for their guests to write lovely comments in, but a heart tree painted onto canvas, which all the guests were invited to put their finger print from coloured ink to make the leaves, and sign their name, which I thought was a lovely idea! To top it all off their first dance was a mix of two – starting off slow, and going into a funky dance routine! It was brilliant!
