Karen & Matt’s Beach Wedding, Tunnels Beaches, Devon

When Karen and Matt asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was so excited! They decided they wanted a beach wedding, and even though they live in Farnham, Surrey, they also have family in Cornwall and Bristol, so Ilfracoombe in Devon was kind of a good central point for their wedding! Plus it’s one of the coolest wedding venues I’ve been to 😀
Here is the Photo Video Fusion Film

Tunnels Beaches has a lot of history to it – it had separate male and female bathing areas in Victorian times, and today is a popular tourist destination (more info below). Part of tunnels beaches has also been turned into a wedding venue, which provides a stunning backdrop – they have most of their weddings outside come rain or shine!

Luckily on Karen and Matt’s May wedding day it didn’t rain a single drop, even though it was predicted to pour all day. Ok so it was a bit windy, and rather on the cool side, but that didn’t stop them from having the ceremony outdoors and enjoying the fresh sea air!

There were quite a few highlights of their day – I was very impressed that Karen and her friends and family are a very talented bunch – firstly, Karen MADE HER WEDDING DRESS!!! With help from her mum, but OMG how amazing is it?! She even made her birdcage veil!!! Karen’s friend Claire made the beautiful bouquets, Matt’s mum made the fabulous beach themed cake, and another friend made the ‘I DO’ lit up sign.

But one of the best highlights was after the first dance– they had made a sign with dance moves to try out, and some hilarious animal masks – some of their guests had us in fits of laughter! We then went down to the beach with some sparklers to get some fabulous nighttime shots! I offer extended coverage for those wishing for me to stay after the first dance, up until 10:30pm (brilliant if you’ve got fireworks or sparklers, or just want a few extra dancing photos!) – just ask for the full price list 😉

What was even better was, I caught all this on film and made a Photo Video Fusion Film of their wedding! Karen and Matt were absolutely over the moon.

Anyway, here’s some of the fabulous images to tell the story of their day, plus one of my amazing Photo Video Fusion Films at the end…

Tunnels Beaches is Ilfracombe’s Award winning beach and really is must see. The fascinating tunnels provide unique access to a beautiful area of coastline inaccessible by any other means. Hand carved in the 1820s, these four tunnels provide a truly unique experience for young & old. Extensive history information throughout the site, including hilarious guides to Victorian etiquette for boys & girls when boating with ladies! Take the kids rock pooling – a great venue for special events and just a general trip of huge interest.

Many thanks for checking out my wedding photography! If you or anyone you know is getting married at this venue (or another venue!) then please Get In Touch for a full price list and availability.
