Emma and Ben’s Rustic Summer Barn Wedding at Heron’s Farm
The Happy Couple…
Emma and Ben have known each other for quite a few years (since school in fact!). They met when still at school/college but got together after uni and have been together since 🙂
I first met Emma and Ben because I was the photographer for Emma’s sister Lucy’s wedding, which was in Wales earlier in the year. It was so lovely to know some of the wedding guests!
The Venue… Heron’s Farm Wedding, Pangbourne, Berkshire
Emma and Ben had their beautiful rustic barn wedding at Heron’s Farm as it fitted their theme perfectly, and kept their wedding intimate and surrounded by family and friends.
This beautiful and romantic tythe barn is flanked by stables and stable cottages, and the setting is amongst courtyards, gardens, woods and paddocks. This makes any Herons farm wedding an exquisite, unique and unusual backdrop for a memorable country rustic wedding reception. Suitable for an informal ‘rustic barn wedding’ style reception, or a more formal and chic celebratory event, the interior of the barn looks gorgeous when decorated. Its quirky features such as the oak beams and pillars, when embellished with flowers, gauzes and garlands, create a truly romantic rustic barn setting, and the grounds can be set out to different specifications.
Herons Farm is steeped in history and is of significant interest with its historical buildings, including an impressive listed octagonal barn. It’s secluded in the heart of the English countryside amidst manicured lawns, mysterious woodlands and enchanting grounds, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Wedding Style… Rustic and natural with lots of wood, greenery and seasonal flowers but with a modern twist…
Emma’s bridesmaids wore beautiful light green dresses with sunflower bouquets, whilst the groomsmen wore suits in a shade of grey. The venue was decorated with simplistic but elegant bunting and hints of wildflowers wrapped around the beams above. Vases were scattered around keeping in with Emma’s bouquet of gypsophila and sunflowers. The delicious-looking cake was made by a friend and designed in a rustic style with gypsophila and sunflowers around it and a buttercream outer.
Highlight of the Day… Mariokart on the Nintendo!
The highlight of Emma and Ben’s day was partly the lovely glorious summer weather, then 5 of us squeezing into a golf buggy to take a trip down the lane to capture the amazing couple photographs, which was good fun! The final highlight had to be the fact that Emma and Ben had a Super Mario Bros video game booth! Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to playing it but it looked so fun, and it’s something I haven’t seen at a wedding before!
Ben and Emma also opted to have one of my fab video fusion films, so Greg and I were filming on the day too… watch this space for their wedding video!!!
Here are some pictures to tell the story of their day…
