Katy and Tom’s Rustic DIY Wedding at West Stoke Farm Barn, Winchester
The Happy Couple…
Tom and Katy met at university in Manchester through SSAGO which is the Student society for Scouts and Guides.
Katy is an architect and Tom works for a small IT firm… Tom says, “Some say if you were to cut me in half I would bleed blue – to that end you might say I am a corporate type now”!
They both live in Brixton and have a love of adventure and the outdoors. Together they have travelled quite a bit of the world, and LOVE exploring new cultures and admiring the differences between them and our quaint ways of doing things here in Britain.
I did a pre-wedding photo shoot in and around Brixton for them, which you can see HERE
The Venues… St Peters Church Winchester, onto West Stoke farm barn
Katy and Tom had a Catholic wedding at St Peter’s Church in Winchester, which is close to Katy’s family home. I thought it was so lovely that the Bishop that married Katy’s parents, also married Katy and Tom.
West Stoke Farm Barn, is a family run venue on a fully working farm, situated in Winchester. The picturesque Victorian timber barn is full of character and embraces every occasion. The beautiful oak beams and neutral colour scheme compliment every party theme, especially that of Katy and Tom’s pastel blue and white colour scheme.
Wedding Theme… Rustic DIY with Pastel Blue and White Colour Scheme
I LOVED the fact that Katy and Tom’s wedding had their own brand and logo! And how all the boy’s blue polka dot ties matched the girl’s blue skirts. Both Mums played a big part in making the outfits, decorations, flowers and cake! Katy’s bridesmaids were dressed in beautiful white and pastel blue coloured 2 pieces. Katy’s Mum actually made the skirts and Katy’s wedding dress!! The bouquets had an array of blue coloured flowers mixed in with hints of Gypsophila and wild flowers.
Decorations on the tables were very rustic, there was an assortment of clear glass bottles of all sorts of sizes and shapes with flower stems in them of different types of pastel blues, whites, greys.
Highlight of the day
The weather stayed nice and dry, which was very lucky. Also, the evening entertainment for the guests was brilliant – it was great fun watching everyone playing table tennis and the other games.
Here are some photographs to tell the story of their day…
