Wedding photography at The Old Thorns Golf Club Hotel & Spa, Liphook

I just found a diary entry back from August 2010! I wrote it down because it was one of the funniest weddings I’ve ever experienced…

Friday 27th August 2010
“The Golf Club Wedding”…

I had the funniest day today:
Started off rather gloomy, tired and feeling low due to crappy weather and the fact I’m doing 3 weddings in 3 days, which is exhausting.

Then the sun came out, my mood perked up, and I went on my way to my 2nd wedding this week at The Old Thorns Golf Club, hotel & spa in Liphook…

The bride and groom were an older couple, 2nd marriage and 4 kids between them who hate each other.

It was time to do some nice photos of them together, so the wedding coordinator organised 2 golf buggies and we went for a little drive up to the highest point of the golf course with spectacular views. Got some really nice photos, then when it came to going back the groom stupidly let the bride drive the buggy…

There was a rather steep path leading back down the golf course. I suddenly hear this yell from the bride, I look behind me and it appears the bride has put her foot on the accelerator instead of the brake coming down the windy steep path!!! She crashes into our buggy pushing it half up a bank on the side of the hill, and then falls/jumps out of her buggy leaving the groom helpless and out of control in the passenger side!!!

She got grass stains all down her dress and unfortunately I didn’t get any photos because I was too busy trying to save myself and the camera gear from falling down the hill. Shame!
Luckily she took it quite well.

Funniest wedding yet!!!!

Unfortunately I can’t post pictures on here because it was I wedding I did for another photographer and I don’t own the copyright 🙁
