Charlotte and Jamie’s English Country Wedding| The Long Barn, Hampshire

Charlotte and Jamie met through a friends birthday celebration in December…

Jamie rather romantically moved some place names around so that they could sit next to each other! They then met again between Christmas and New Year after lots of messaging and then partied their socks off in London for the Winter until the end of Feb when they realised that they were both going on skiing trips to Meribel for the same week (a place that’s close to my heart as I have previously done a Ski season there!). It was there that Jamie formally asked Charlotte to be his girlfriend!

Jamie then proposed on his birthday in May 2015 at one of their favourite lunch spots in Cornwall. They went for a walk along the beach to the sea wall, which was empty and he popped the question.

A church wedding, followed by a rustic barn reception…

Charlotte and Jamie chose to get married at St James’ Church in East Tisted which is a beautiful church close to Alton, Hampshire. The ceremony was beautiful and there were just under 200 guests there to help them celebrate.

After the ceremony we all made our way to The Long Barn in Newton Valence which is one of Hampshire’s most popular wedding venues, and is indeed a very long barn! Perfect for lots of people and a rustic English country vibe 🙂

champagne gold colours, vintage pinks and whites with a rustic country feel

Charlotte and Jamie wanted to make the venue feel elegant and luxurious, but with the comfort and warmth of a country barn style and they did this with champagne gold colours, vintage pinks and whites. Their wedding cake had feathers on it, to match the rustic country theme. They had fairy lights all over the barn which looked really pretty and magical. Their table centrepieces were a mixture of colourful, yet subtle flower arrangements and tall candelabras.

There were a few fabulous highlights of the day….

…An amazing unicorn head ice sculpture which was really unusual but cool (literally!). Charlotte and Jamie had two wedding bands, the first was a Jazz band – Russell Shaun – and they were followed by a Mumford and Son’s style covers band called Uptown Folk, who were both brilliant and I would totally recommend. To end the evening, just before I left, Charlotte had an outfit change where her more traditional Wedding Dress was replaced with a fabulous two piece white top and feathery skirt.

Charlotte and Jamie decided to have one of my Video Fusion films included in their package. These are a really popular option for my clients, particularly as I am one of the only photographers in Surrey and Hampshire that do them!! (please watch in HD)

Would you like something similar to capture all the fun of your wedding? I’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch.

Here are Charlotte & Jamie’s images to tell the story of their day…
