Gill and Dave’s Wedding Photography at Manor House Hotel in Guildford

Gill and Dave got married at the Manor House Hotel in Newlands Corner, Guildford, on a very rainy day, but that didn’t spoil our fun! We had to do the group photos inside, but as the Manor House has a conservatory area at the entrance, we squeezed everyone in on the steps nicely! Then we took a brolly out in the rain for some photos of just Gill and Dave (with Dave’s son helping keep me and my equipment dry!).

Gill says:

“We chose suppliers in-house for the Manor House after going to their Wedding Fair, as it was the simplest way.  We didn’t have long to organise things, so it saved time.  Luckily for us everything turned out perfectly!
My dress and shrug were from Silhouettes in Richmond, Bridesmaids dresses were Monsoon.  Dave and his son’s suits were from M & S, as was the wedding cake!  All the flowers were from Elise of Florescence.  The evening DJ was Neil Johnson of Sphere Entertainment.  We hired chair sashes from Ambience.  The other table decorations I bought from Hobbycraft and Bride & Groom online.
We would recommend in particular, Neil the DJ as the evening music was perfect for everyone and we received so many compliments on the choice of songs, Elise the florist produced such beautiful bouquets and flower displays which were a bit edgy too!.  And not forgetting yourself! Thank you for creating such beautiful lasting memories.  I nearly forgot, my make-up and hair and the bridesmaid’s hair was done by the brilliant Phillipa and her assistant, who was recommended by Elise”

I liked how Gill and Dave had named the tables after various albums from bands they both liked such as Led Zeppelin!

There was only one slight problem – the cake that had to be put together on the morning of the wedding, and Gill ended up doing it herself! Then when Gill got back up to her room to put her dress on, her bridesmaids weren’t around to help her! To all my future clients, and advice to anyone else reading this – please make sure you give designated jobs to people on the morning of your wedding, so you don’t have any stress having to organise or do it yourself! I always allow plenty of time for getting ready and doing portraits before the ceremony so if anything does happen or run over then we’ve still got time to do some lovely portraits in the nick of time (which luckily we did!). Always best to aim to be completely ready at least half an hour before you have to leave for the ceremony!

Gill and Dave had a bespoke wedding package – I was there to take getting ready photos 2 hours before the ceremony, up until the end of the speeches. I’ve just had their finished wedding album arrive as well, which is one of my fabulous GraphiStudio albums in black leatherette.
