Abbie & Ollie’s Woodland Themed Horsley Towers Wedding in Surrey

The Happy Couple…

Abbie and Ollie have known each other for quite a few years, and now they both share the love of teaching primary school children!

I did a pre-wedding shoot for them at The Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park, where they like to go for walks. You can see the blog and more of their lovely engagement pics HERE.

The Venue… De Vere Horsley Towers, Surrey

This Horsley Towers Wedding was incredible! It’s got a secret chapel (which isn’t easy to find!), beautifully tiled cloisters, and a lakeside 19th-century mansion; De Vere Horsley Estate near Guildford creates an unforgettable backdrop for your wedding day.

The Great Hall lends a dramatic atmosphere with its vaulted ceiling and oak-paneled walls, whereas the Sopwith Suite provides an elegant space with original features and timeless décor. Both are popular choices for ceremonies and wedding breakfasts seating up to 110 and 120 guests respectively. The Charles Barry Room sits alongside the Towers Bar making it ideal for evening receptions.

Elsewhere the mansion’s cloisters and chapel offer a wealth of unique photo opportunities, while the lakeside lawns and terrace make a wonderful space for your guests to celebrate.

Wedding Style… Twilight Woodland theme with an Ivory Champagne colour scheme

Abbie’s bridesmaids wore beautiful ivory and champagne gold dresses whilst the groomsmen wore suits in a shade of blue which was a complete surprise to Abbie. The Great Hall at Horsley Towers was decorated with a Twilight style woodland theme, even the cake was designed as silver birch tree trunks with some toadstools around it! So creative! Their tables were named after different places they have been together with a lovely selfie from each place as well!

Highlight of the Day… the T-Shirt Cannon!!!

The highlight definitely had to be after dinner. Normally the Bride would throw the bouquet, but Abbie and Ollie decided they would do it a bit differently… and fire personalised T-Shirts at their guests, with a cannon!!

I Also had another Twilight moment, when I went for a walk around the grounds during the Wedding Breakfast…

It had just stopped raining, the sun had come out, the branches of the trees were dripping in the evening sunlight, and like magic, a deer appeared grazing on the lawn!!! Seriously. It was pretty special.

Abbie and Ollie chose to have a Video Fusion Film to tell the story of their day, including a personalised signing frame for their guests to write little messages on their wedding day, which they can hang on the wall in their home.
