Michelle’s Reflexology Personal Branding Shoot

Why Michelle wanted to have a Personal Branding Shoot…

Michelle's Personal Branding Shoot

Michelle owns Reflexology Farnham, and approached me for her personal branding shoot as we know each other from the Farnham Business Hub – a great group of professionals all networking together and learning new business skills. Consequently meaning Michelle already knows and loves my style. I knew she not only wanted some great images to reflect her and her business, but also wanted to have some nice portraits for her to treat herself to!

I loved working with Michelle as she is a fun and bubbly lady! She has been practising Reflexology for over 20 years and certainly knows her stuff! She started her own business so that most importantly she could be at home for her children as they were growing up.

Another thing that makes Michelle so great is that she is one of 90 people worldwide qualified in Nerve Reflexology. This is a deep dive anatomy and physiology education to know where the organ and nerve chains of the body are. Nerve Reflexology gets to the route of your symptoms fast enabling you to achieve the results you want quicker.

I asked her plenty of questions about her and her business to make sure I created the images she wanted and needed 🙂

What is a Personal Branding Shoot?

The Headshot

A headshot alone is not personal branding, but may be a contributing factor to your personal brand. I like to think of myself as a creative photographer and think most personal brand imagery should push the boundaries a little. But even I agree a traditional headshot is still important. For example, your social media profile photos should be close up and recognisable images of you.

When you book your personal branding photo session, be sure to include at least one headshot. You may wish to have two for different situations. Whether you choose a darker image and brighter image or opt to include both casual and more dressy looks, you’ll find uses for both.

Brand Result Shots

The second kind of personal brand photography is the real aim for any business. It’s both the most important images in building a connection with your viewers and the most vague. Why vague you’re thinking? Because the most effective photography for you will be very different than the best photography for another. These images show the results after a client works with you.

Your brand is what people say about you when you walk out of the room, and brand-ing is what gets that message out. Discovering and living by your core values can keep you grounded when it comes to your photo shoot ideas. What I suggest to my clients is to design an idea of how they want their photography session to go so that it can show those values and imply the results you deliver and you will have a full, busy business.

Michelle said…

“I was looking forward to the photo shoot with Ginny – the prospect of having some pictures that represent who I am … inner core values and personal character”

“Ginny made everything fun – she is a good listener and understood the brief really well.  We made a story board and we had some props to help with illustrating ‘components’ of the biz. Grateful for the session.   Getting out of the comfort zone is an opportunity for personal growth because stuff comes up to be looked at and reframed in a more positive way.Don’t hesitate – it’s not just about ROI; you might discover something powerful about yourself.  And your customers will thank you for that.”
