Something Blue Styled Wedding Inspiration at the Holiday Inn, Winchester

Theme of Styled Wedding Shoot: Something Blue, vintage, and quirky!

Aim:

To create four different styles of bride all tying into the Something Blue theme. Each bride showcases a different look, showing how one theme can be interpreted in so many ways. When people think of the Something Blue theme, they may only be thinking of navy chair covers or the more traditional elements. We wanted to showcase how you can have a theme like this, but be creative with it. It also shows that despite it being a ‘something blue’ theme, other colours can be incorporated, which created a gorgeous Spring feel to the shoot.

The shoot took place at the Something Blue Wedding Fayre, at the Holiday Inn Winchester, organised by Little Star Events. “We love using the wedding suppliers who are exhibiting at our fayres to create photoshoots which tie into the theme of the wedding fayre. This is not only a great way to give brides ideas on alternative looks but it also showcases the great suppliers.” (Gemma Starr, Little Star Events)

The looks…

Whimsical bride (Victoria Basley)

Styled Wedding Shoot
This look shows a more natural look with the blue element being the dress which is a powder blue dress. The hair is gorgeous and floaty to match the whimsical theme and the make-up very natural but with the added glitter, adds a magical look. The gorgeous flowers had baby pink and baby blue in the bouquet. The light in these images behind Victoria creates a wonderful whimsical, fresh feel.

Edgy bride (Helen Norgate)

Styled Wedding Shoot

With Helen’s look, we wanted to show that you can still have a ‘something blue’ theme, even if you have a dress with pink flowers on the bottom! Helen’s something blue element are the gorgeous flowers. Helen’s dress and pink veil was teamed with a collection of her own Stella and Dot jewellery, which really gave an edgier feel to a gorgeous, pretty dress.

Urban vintage (Georgia Harding)

Styled Wedding Shoot
Georgia is wearing a beautiful vintage style tea length dress which shows a quirky vintage side but also that if you like that style, it can still be contemporary. The contrast of the urban metal staircase, contemporary make up, floral shoes and then the dress and vintage style tea cup headpiece creates a great urban vintage look. Georgia’s ‘something blue’ element was in her make-up, and then the colour on the tea cup headpiece, blue in her shoes and the gorgeous bouquet, which was teamed with a splash of yellow to give the look a Spring feel.

Sophisticated Elegance (Claire McNelis)

Styled Wedding Shoot
Claire’s look showcases how you can use the colour theme minimally to add to your look. Claire wears a stunning sophisticated gown with a gorgeous  and elegant hair styling. The cage veil is a gorgeous addition and adds a real sophisticated grace to this look. We wanted to show that you do not have to have blue in everything and this bride has just blue in her flowers with a touch of yellow.
